Eiran aikuislukio – Eira High School for Adults

Eira High School for Adults is one of the largest schools in Finland offering upper secondary studies which lead to the ylioppilastukinto, the Finnish matriculation examination. It is also one of the most versatile; offering a variety of ways to study with both classroom based, online studies and off-course ‘tentti’ options. Courses run from morning to evening, enabling students to find time slots that fit their personal circumstances.

Newcomers to Finland can benefit from our upper secondary "Three Path Program", taught in English and supported by extensive Finnish language courses. Studies follow the Finnish national curriculum but include an option to take the AICE Diploma. Otherwise students can switch to studies in Finnish when language skills are sufficiently developed and take the Matriculation Examination. There is also "First Steps in Finland" which is a thriving lower secondary program for immigrants.

The age range of students is from 18 to 80. Each student has his or her own starting point and goals and the versatility of our various study options is at the service of our students to enable them to reach those goals. In circumstances when an applicant has no other offers of a study place we can consider students under 18.

Entrance to the High School side is by entrance examination. Further details can be found on our How to Enrol -pages.
